We are dealing with some trying times right now and I want to take this chance to share something about myself. I am an addict and an alcoholic living in recovery. Although my attempts at recovery have looked very different in different phases of my life I recently celebrated another year free from the influence of drugs or alcohol. I do want to mention that I hesitated to share this information because I don’t want it to overshadow any of my other efforts but it is a part of life and I think it’s very important for me to be honest on here. It’s hard to know how to react to all of the information that is out there right now and I know it can be overwhelming. On the plus side I’ve seen people pull together to support one another and I find that so incredibly uplifting! I hope to carry this message here on my blog as well as talk to other people living their lives in recovery and what that looks like for them.
